THE PRESIDENT’S CORNER

HEALTHCARE TAKES A “BACKSEAT”

We haven’t changed the President’s Corner message in quite sometime and I apologize for not being more timely. The good side to that is that I’ve been unbelievably busy, the bad side is that isn’t a valid excuse because everyone at DCHC has been unbelievably busy and there is still so much more that has to be done!

The economics of the times have shifted priorities. As important as healthcare is and should be, it’s beginning to take a back seat to $4.15 per gallon gasoline. It takes a backseat to $4.95 per gallon milk. It takes a backseat to $5.00 per box of cereal. The problem is that the pocketbook is making the decision for the brain! And that’s not healthy at all! Failure to adequately address your health and your family’s health, can be extremely costly in the end, with figures going into the thousands of dollars simply because you’re worrying about the dimes, quarters and dollars!

While I can’t suggest to you how to spend your money, I can recommend that you keep healthcare on the same playing field as gasoline, food, utility bills, etc. You might not be happy with what I’m pointing out, but if your health prevents you from going to work, going to the grocery store or going to the gas stations, then perhaps I’ve proven how important it is and you simply don’t want it to take a “backseat”!

DCHC is here to serve. We’re affordable. We are accredited through The Joint Commission (former known as JACHO) which means that our standards for cleanliness and quality are high. We have five locations in the City of Detroit which means we strive to provide access. We prefer to make appointments for our patients but “walk-ins” are welcome. And, we are constantly working on improving our customer service so that your DCHC experience is a pleasant one. So give us a try! And, please send me an email if there is anything we need to do to improve….I want to hear from you. If we did something right, I want to hear from you and quite naturally, if we did something incorrectly, I want to hear form you as well!

We want DCHC to be the premier place to go for primary care and dental services in the City of Detroit. Hope to see you soon!

Sincerely,
